Jajanin is a school canteen ordering web app that allows students to check real-time menus, prices, and order online. A digital solution to reduce queues and improve canteen management efficiency.
Project Background
Jajanin was born from a classic problem in school canteens: long queues that eat up students' break time. As a developer, I saw an opportunity to bring technology into the educational environment by building a web-based canteen ordering application. The goal is simple: to make the transaction process more organized, transparent, and efficient for all parties.
This app is designed so that students can access the canteen menu anytime, see prices clearly, and order without having to queue. With a user-friendly interface, Jajanin helps students save time and ensures their favorite meals are still available. Not only that, the system also provides stock certainty, so students don't have to be disappointed when a menu item runs out.
On the canteen manager's side, Jajanin helps manage stock and orders in a more organized way. With a systematic workflow, canteen staff can prepare orders in advance, so when students arrive, the food is ready. This is a real step in digitizing school canteens, bringing convenience and order to daily activities.
How the System Works
Jajanin is built with a responsive web architecture using Laravel, PHP, MySQL, Tailwind CSS, and JavaScript. The process starts when a student opens the app and sees a menu catalog directly connected to the canteen inventory database. Each item displays complete information, including price and stock availability in real-time.
Students can select food, add it to a digital cart, and place an order. Once confirmed, the order data goes directly to the canteen manager's dashboard. The system automatically records the order status, from 'Awaiting Confirmation', 'Being Prepared', to 'Ready for Pickup'. Canteen staff receive instant notifications for every new order, so preparation can begin immediately.
The final step is pickup. Students simply come to the canteen and show their digital order proof, such as an order number or unique code. With this flow, physical interaction at the canteen becomes shorter and more orderly. No more confusion during transactions, and all income is neatly recorded in the system.
