Vocational Building of KEMNAKER RI
Visual exploration of a 3D model of the Kemnaker RI Vocational Building in an artistic and efficient low-poly style. Precisely created using Blender for lightweight yet detailed architectural visualization needs.
Details & Model Background
This project is a form of visual appreciation for the architecture of the Vocational Building of Kemnaker RI, which I realized in a low poly 3D model format. As a Full-Stack Web Developer, I believe that integrating 3D elements into modern web requires a balance between aesthetics and performance. Therefore, this model is specifically designed to have a minimal polygon count while still maintaining the iconic and easily recognizable visual characteristics of the building.
The modeling process was entirely done using Blender, where my main focus was geometry efficiency without sacrificing the building's silhouette. The challenge in this project was simplifying complex architectural details into cleaner geometric shapes, which are very suitable for use as assets in game development, interactive web simulations, or supporting elements in digital presentations that require fast loading times.
Through this work, I aim to demonstrate my ability to process 3D assets optimized for web needs. The use of this low poly technique ensures that the model is not only visually appealing but also very resource-friendly when implemented into web applications based on Three.js or Babylon.js in the future.
How the System Works
The process of creating the 3D model of the Kemnaker RI Vocational Building follows a standard industry 3D modeling workflow optimized for digital needs. The first stage begins with collecting visual references of the actual building to understand the proportions, scale, and basic shape of the building structure. After that, I performed basic blocking in Blender using primitive modeling techniques to form the main structure of the building.
The next step is the low-poly optimization stage. Here, I manually reduce unnecessary vertices and faces. I ensure that each part of the building has clean topology so that the model remains lightweight when rendered. The use of flat shading is applied to strengthen the artistic low poly aesthetic, giving a modern and minimalist impression to the final model.
The final stage is the application of materials and simple vertex coloring. I do not use heavy textures (high-resolution maps) to keep the file size small. The end result is an optimized 3D file, ready to be exported to standard web formats such as GLTF or GLB, allowing the model to be loaded instantly in the browser without burdening the user's device performance.
Key Features
- Low-Poly Optimization: Effectively minimized polygon count to ensure very fast rendering performance across various devices, from desktop to mobile.
- Web-Ready Format: The model is designed to be compatible with web development workflows, easily integrated with libraries such as Three.js, React Three Fiber, or Babylon.js.
- Accurate Proportions: Despite its minimalist style, the model retains the scale and main visual characteristics of the Kemnaker RI Vocational Building to preserve the building's identity.
- Resource Efficiency: Use of lightweight material techniques without heavy textures, keeping the file size small so as not to slow down the website's load time.
