PUPR RI Building
3D visual exploration of the PUPR RI Building with an aesthetic and efficient low poly style. Precisely created using Blender, this model combines iconic architectural beauty with high performance optimization for digital asset needs.
Details & Model Background
As a developer, I am always interested in exploring how real-world architecture can be translated into lightweight digital assets that still represent the essence of the original. This 3D Model of the PUPR RI Building is my effort to visualize one of Indonesia's office architecture icons in a clean and efficient low poly form.
The creative process began with in-depth visual reference collection regarding the geometric structure of the building. The main challenge was simplifying complex architectural details into basic shapes without losing the unique character of the original building. Using Blender, I focused on polygon count efficiency so that this model not only looks aesthetic but is also highly optimal for integration into web-based applications using Three.js or other game engines.
The final result is a lightweight 3D asset with clean topology, ready to use. This project proves that with proper modeling techniques, we can create impressive visual assets for portfolio needs, virtual simulations, or web-based applications that require fast loading times.
How the System Works
The model creation system uses a systematic hard-surface modeling workflow in Blender. The first step is blocking, where I arrange basic shapes (primitives) to determine the main proportions of the building based on its actual scale. This process ensures that the building silhouette remains accurate even though details are simplified.
After the main proportions are formed, I perform low-poly optimization. In this stage, I remove unnecessary vertices and do retopology to ensure clean mesh flow. This is crucial so that the model remains lightweight when rendered in real-time on a web browser without burdening user device performance.
The final stage is applying basic materials and shading. I use a color palette that resembles the original building colors to maintain its visual identity. Flat shading or smooth shading techniques are applied selectively to provide strong dimension and 3D impression despite the minimal polygon count, ensuring a perfect balance between aesthetics and performance.
